Root Canal Therapy

Teeth are alive!

Each of your natural teeth has a nerve, an artery, and a vein (just like every other part of your body).

Root Canal Therapy is required when the inside of the tooth becomes inflamed beyond repair.

This inflammation can be caused by decay (cavities), deep existing fillings (past cavities), or trauma.

When Root Canal Therapy is performed, the tooth is made numb just like a regular filling. The tooth is left in place, but the inside of the tooth root space is cleaned, shaped, and filled.

Teeth treated with Root Canal Therapy require a Crown (link) to prevent the tooth from fracture because Root Canal Therapy removes the blood supply from teeth and makes them very brittle.
